Jacksonville Journal-Courier

Quinton Miller, a senior pitcher/outfielder at Jacksonville High School, has signed a national letter of intent to accept a baseball scholarship and attend Springfield College in Illinois for the 2008-09 school year.

The lefthander will be playing for coach Steve Torrecelli, who has transformed SCI into a regional junior college power within the past 8 years.

Miller helped propel JHS to its first sectional appearance in 35 years with a dominating performance against a highly regarded Bethalto Civic Memorial squad in the regional championship last May.

Miller is the son of Cindy Miller of Jacksonville.
